Q. Are Manischewitz wines Kosher for Passover?
A.
Some are and some are not. During the non-Passover season, we bottle wines that are kosher for everyday consumption and are manufactured according to guidelines of the Congregation of Jewish Orthodix Unions. Manischewitz wines that are certified Kosher for Passover have the distinctive OU-P symbol on the front label. Click here to view our Passover 2002 products.

Q. Who gives our Kosher certification?
A.
The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, which is the largest and best known agency in the world. All of our wine is made according to the strictest standards of this prestigious kosher governing body.

Q. How is Kosher wine different from Non-Kosher wine?
A.
There is not much difference between the two. In Kosher wine, all ingredients must come from an approved source and cannot contain any animal by-products or components. From crushing to bottling, all Manischewitz wines are under constant supervision of Rabbis.

Q. Are Manischewitz wines made from grapes?
A.
Manischewitz Blackberry and Cherry fruit wines are made from berry concentrate. Not using grapes causes the blessing which would be recited before consuming the wine to be different from the blessing on the grape wine.

Q. Are Manischewitz wines fermented on the skins?
A.
No.

Q. Are Manischewitz wines good to cook with?
A.
Yes. You can access a wide range of delicious recipes that use our wine under the "Recipes" section of this website.

Q. Does Manischewitz make a dry table wine?
A.
While we make a full line of sweet wine products, our driest full flavored wine is Medium Dry Concord, which you can find in the traditional square bottle.

Q. What sugar is used?
A.
Corn syrup is used to produce our Kosher wine products. During Passover, pure cane sugar is used to make our "Kosher for Passover" wines.

Q. Where can we purchase Manischewitz wine products?
A.
During the entire year, and especially the Passover season, Manischewitz wines can be found at almost every supermarket, wine store, and drug store where other wine products are sold. If you are unable to locate Manischewitz wines where you normally shop, please drop us a note on our "Contact Us" e-mail page and we will assist you in finding a retail store for Manischewitz wines.

Q. What sizes do we make?
A.
We make 750 mil., 1.5 liters and 3 liters. Most varieties come in the two smaller sizes, with Concord, Blackberry, Cream White, and Cream Red in the 3 liter size.
